TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF. My name is Carly Keeton . I am very proud to be from Olympia Wa, however I moved to Seattle last year and I’m loving every minute of it! I graduated from The Euro Institute of Skin Care in Renton Wa in 2006, and after bartending and serving from the beginning to the end of my 20s, I decided it was the end of an era and finally put my OCD to use by becoming a full time Esthetician at Wax On.I absolutely love waxing, I am excited to be here, and I feel very fortunate to work with such an amazing group of people. My favorite types of clients are the people that come in super nervous thinking that they won’t survive, and then leave completely calm and addicted to waxing. TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF. I was born and raised in Southern California and moved up to Seattle in 2006. One might think that it could be challenging for a Cali girl to acclimate to the weather in the PNW but I found it to be a refreshing change, when I tell people this, they mostly think I’m crazy. Some of my favorite things in all the land are my family and friends, camping, sunrises and sunsets, nature, food, travel, music, art, fashion, hammocks, beaches, horses, wine, dark chocolate, my boyfriend and laughter…..I’m certain I’m forgetting a few. I attended the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute and have been doing Esthetics since 2007, must say I love every minute of it. WHAT DO YOU THINK CLIENTS FIND MOST APPEALING ABOUT LESLEY? Oh, well that’s easy. Lesley is awesome! Not only does she maintain a high level of professionalism during the service but she is also a great communicator. She’ll walk you through your wax with confidence; efficiency and humor making the whole experience one that you will want to come back for again and again. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF CLIENTS? I like them all! One of my favorite parts of this job is connecting with different types of personalities and creating positive experiences for each one. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SERVICE YOU PROVIDE? WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF CLIENTS? First time waxers are my favorite. I love explaining the benefits of waxing and showing them waxing isn’t as scary as it sounds. I graduated from the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute in 2011 and before beauty school I was in the banking industry for 7 years. I feel very fortunate that I get to work with such a great team and have the opportunity to meet so many interesting people every day. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, checking out great restaurants, going to shows to see my favorite bands and generally having a great time no matter where I’m at. WHAT DO YOU THINK CLIENTS FIND MOST APPEALING ABOUT SABRINA? Sabrina is a sweetheart and she’s really genuine. She is one of those people that can make you feel instantly comfortable even if you’ve only known her for 10 minutes…a definite plus in the waxing biz! WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF CLIENTS? I like it when friends come in for services together because they’re usually having a great time and I get to join in on the fun. After graduating with a degree in Sociology from Seattle University I decided to channel my obsession with body hair into a career. Ultimately, I attended the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute and I’m excited to be working here at Wax On. One of the best aspects of my job is meeting new people. WHAT DO YOU THINK CLIENTS FIND MOST APPEALING ABOUT SHELLEY? Shelley is very charismatic. She tells great stories, has a wonderful voice and does one mean Brazilian. And by that I mean, fast, thorough and relatively painless. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF CLIENTS? Hairy people with interesting vignettes. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SERVICE YOU PROVIDE? TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF. I am lucky/cursed to have two professional passions: hair removal and the theater. My love for performing on stage began at 6 yrs old. A member of the Actor’s Equity Association: I have designed, directed, adapted plays from book, taught and coached. Shakespeare is my favorite playwright. I began waxing in 1979 after getting my legs waxed in 1978. I had had eyebrow waxes and bikini waxes ( as well as some electrolysis), but discovering leg waxing has changed my life. To be free of stubble was amazing! To discover that consistent, repetitive would eventually leave me hair free was a revelation! In 1997 I was recruited by Dr. Jerrold Gendler, a New Orleans cosmetic surgeon, to create a hair removal business using the first laser to be FDA approved (the medical building I was in was condemned following Hurricane Katrina). So if you’ve questions about hair removal, I have got a lot of opinions. WHAT DO YOU THINK CLIENTS FIND MOST APPEALING ABOUT MELISSA? Oh, besides being young and adorable? Well, maybe her great sense of humor professionalism and the fact she is rapidly overtaking me in the speed department. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF CLIENTS? Let’s see. Uh, hairy and punctual — maybe interesting and funny, or well-read and traveled. I absolutely appreciate the special responsibility of caring for the first time clients. Whether it is a brow wax or a Brazilian one never forgets their first wax. It ought to be a good one. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SERVICE YOU PROVIDE? Male Brazilians WHAT IS YOUR SIGN? I like the clients that come in with a positive attitude, a big personality. I enjoy the interaction I have with the clients, exchanging stories, sharing experiences, and even just the day to day stuff. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SERVICE YOU PROVIDE? I love underarm waxes!! Simple, to the point and done in a flash. I’ve tried to make my Brazilians like the underarm wax experience. I hope I’m succeeding. I also like brow waxing, after having been a make up artist it’s easy to see how a brow needs to develop into the right shape to compliment a face. WHAT IS YOUR SIGN? Pisces. Also the history you breathe as you walk the streets of Paris gives you an impression that life is not small and insignificant, but a series of events leading you to right now.
